Michael Romeo de Symphony X

Michael Romeo, Symphony XNacido el 6 de Marzo del 68 en New York. Al principio empezó tocando el piano a los 12 años, pero después de escuchar bandas como Led Zeppellin, Kiss, Judas Priest y Maiden, decidió coger la guitarra a los 14. Sus más tempranas influencias fueron Jimmy Page, Van Halen y Randy Rhoads. Tomó lecciones de guitarra clásica durante un año y empezó a fijarse en músicos más técnicos comoAl DiMeola, Malmteen y Paul Gilbert.

Pasó algunos años, la mayoría en la universidad, practicando mucho con algunas bandas, entonces, a los 20 grabó algunas partes instrumentales que había escrito. Envió la grabación a unas cuantas publicaciones de guitarra y tuvo buena aceptación. Eso le llevó a la creación de Symphony X, a la que quería incorporar esas influencias de metal, progresivo y clásica. Junto a Michael Pinella grabó el disco instrumental The Dark chapter, y fué en 1994 cuando fundó definitivamente Symphony X después del interés de un sello japonés quienes quedaron impresionados ante su talento como guitarrista y compositor.
